SMARTTURN HISTORY

October 2

Starting Out

Established as Smart Turn Precision Engineering in 1992 from a starter unit and a single CNC centre lathe. Initially producing turned components to a Formula One customer, the company grew rapidly supplying turned and milled components to Formula One, hydraulic and laser industries.

Building The Future

By the late 1990s the company had relocated to larger premises and it was beginning to establish itself within the oil and gas industry.

Relocation

By 2005 the company purchased premises of a site in Crick near Rugby and subsequently relocated to our current location. Within the past 2 years the premises have been extended and now incorporate new inspection area, staff canteen, additional offices and a further 5,000 sq ft workshop area.

25th Anniversary

Approaching 2017, the company enters its 25th year as an independent subcontractor machine shop. Challenges lay ahead but the company is well placed to meet ever demanding requirements. From a position of strength, a substantial portfolio of CNC machinery and the expertise, commitment and motivation from the directors and staff, the company is as determined as ever to succeed.
