Working day : Mon-Thurs 7:45am – 4:05pm & Fri 8:00am – 2:00pm
The Role –
Due to company growth a fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our team. We are seeking CNC Operators ideally with experience in using CNC lathes and/or milling machines – preferably with knowledge of Fanuc controls.
Training will be given to applicants with limited or no experience.
You will be working as part of a wider team to undertake a variety of CNC duties and produce a wide range of precision components, ranging from valve bodies, to flanges, to Formula 1 fasteners.
Key Responsibilities:
Set and operate Fanuc-controlled CNC machines
Working from Technical Drawings
Installing the correct programmes into the machine
Prepare and load materials and components
Working to specific tolerances ensuring these are accurate for each operation
Inspect and measure finished components, recording results using in-process inspection sheets
Reporting to their supervisor with any queries
Take a proactive approach to managing their own and others’ Health & Safety
Be flexible in their duties/responsibilities and perform other duties which reasonably correspond to the general character of their job
Adhere to all Company’s policies.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Training.
Ideally you should have experience of setting and operating CNC machines – lathes and/or milling machines. However, training will be given if you lack experience
Completed relevant apprenticeship in engineering or a minimum of Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds in the relevant field is desirable
Experience producing precision turned or milled components, preferably to close tolerances
Confident, independent operation of Fanuc-controlled machines
Experience of machining a variety of materials, including high-strength nickel alloys, heat-treated cobalt, and ferrous
Ability to complete ongoing quality documentation, maintaining communication with supervisors and quality operatives
Understanding of M and G codes
Understand basic measurement principles
Understanding of basic quality principles
